Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a relatively simple metal debris sensor which has a high sensitivity, indicates the existence of gradually growing metal debris and the accumulation speed thereof, and outputs a useful signal of high level.
CONSTITUTION: A metal debris sensor for sensing metal debris in flowing fluid has a frame for the fluid to pass through and a screen arranged in the frame for trapping the metal debris within the fluid. A first inductance coil 22a arranged adjacent to at least a part of the screen 14, and a measuring means 40 for measuring the inductance changes of the coil 22a caused by the metal debris trapped by the screen 14 and outputting a signal indicating the trapped debris quantity are provided.
