Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent small metal pieces in a product moving along a lower chute from passing metal detectors without detection in the metal detectors employed in a packaging industry.SOLUTION: A chute assembly 10 delivers a product to a former 11 of a packaging assembly. The chute assembly 10 includes a chute 14 that converges downwardly. Located adjacent the chute 14 is a metal detector 21 having a transmitting and receiving coil 33 and 34 having different diameters. The receiving coils 34 is adapted to provide a signal when metal is detected.
