To provide an excellently durable metal die punching device by which a soft sheet type material such as a nonwoven fabric cloth can be punched without any frayed fiber in the circumference part.

A sheet type material put between a female die 10 and a male die 20 is punched when the male die 20 and the female die 10 are fitted together. In the male die 20, a fitting projection part 21 is formed, while a fitting recess part 11 is formed in the female die 10. An inverse clearance is set, so that the outside diameter of the fitting projection part 21 is slightly larger than the inside diameter of the fitting recess part 11 when the male die 20 is pulled out from the female die 10. Around the fitting recess part 11, a groove part 12, which is provided with a similar shape to the plane outline of the fitting recess part 11 and a uniform width, is formed, so that a partition wall part 13 with a uniform width is formed. In mutual fitting of both dies 10, 20, the fitting projection part 21 is fitted in the fitting recess part 11 by means of elastic deformation of the partition wall part 13.
