To provide a metal finished product which contains no metallic powder in a Japanese lacquer layer, and has excellent peeling strength, sufficient hardness and weatherability, in the metal finished product having a texture and a gloss peculiar to a Japanese lacquer, and a method for manufacturing the metal finished product.
This method comprises a process to apply the Japanese lacquer to the surface of a metal and bake it at 150 to 300°C to form an undercoat layer, and a process to further apply the Japanese lacquer, then dry and vitrify it at 120 to 300°C to form a topcoat layer. In addition, the metal finished product comprises the Japanese lacquer undercoat layer coming into contact with the metallic surface, and the Japanese lacquer topcoat layer adjacent to the undercoat layer. Besides, the undercoat layer does not contain the metallic powder.
