Abstract:
To provide a manufacturing method of a metal foam.SOLUTION: A metal-containing powder possibly containing aluminum, chromium, or molybdenum is given to a metal foam that possibly contains nickel, cobalt, copper and iron. When the metal foam is then heat-treated, a maximum temperature of a heat treatment for the metal foam is in a range of 680-715°C and a total duration time of the heat treatment at a temperature range of 680-715°C is 5-240 seconds. An amorphous region can be left inside the metal foam while an alloy formation simultaneously occurs at a contact surface between the metal foam and the metal containing powder, by considering a rule related to the heat treatment. This invention further includes a method including a treatment of an alloyed metal foam by a basic solution. This invention further includes the metal foam used exemplarily in a support/structure element and a catalyst technology.SELECTED DRAWING: None
