Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal jacket for an artificial joint stem using no cement, for largely reducing shearing stress harmful to the life of the artificial joint to relax a stress intercepting phenomenon to a large extent and suppressing the formation of a gap between a bone and a stem to minimize the fusion of the bone by the penetration of abrasive particles.
SOLUTION: The metal jacket 10 for the artificial joint stem using no cement is constituted so as to cover at least a part of the artificial joint stem 21 using no cement longitudinally inserted in the hole formed to the bone lumen of a human body and has a metal layer or wire, of which the surface is treated so that a bone 31 engages with the metal jacket while grows in a contact state, as an outer surface.
