Abstract:
To provide a metal melting furnace capable of efficiently cooling a furnace side wall.SOLUTION: A metal melting furnace is used for melting the object to be melted comprising a metal component(s) and comprises: an internal space storing the object to be melted; a furnace side wall defining a side face of the internal space; and electrodes arranged along a height direction in the internal space. The furnace side wall comprises: a refractory arranged on the internal space side; and a metallic skin covering an outer surface of the refractory. The skin has plural projecting parts arranged along the height direction on a face facing the refractory and having a planar shape, and each projecting part is fitted to a recessed part provided in a face facing the skin in the refractory.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
