To provide a metal member forming method which is applicable when manufacturing a metal product with surfaces having various curvatures being continuous to each other, and capable of easily setting a projecting condition of shots to each part.

In the metal member forming method by the shot peening, a state of the plastic distortion of a metal member caused by the shots projected on a surface of the metal member is replaced by a state of the thermal distortion when setting a temperature boundary condition on a surface of the metal member; the material characteristic of the metal member and the temperature boundary condition according to the forming shape are simulated by the numerical computation; and the shot projecting condition is set based on the result of simulation.
