Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a manufacturing method for a metal mirror that effectively uses accuracy of a polygon mirror blank obtained by press working and improves productivity.

CONSTITUTION: This is a manufacturing method for a metal mirror that manufactures a polygon mirror by mirror finishing by cutting machining of respective faces 2a, 2b of a metal mirror blank 10 which is highly precisely processed by press working. It involves the first process in which an intersection line part of respective faces of the polygon mirror blank 10 is cut off by a prescribed quantity by cutting machining and the second process in which a cutting tool 7 for mirror finishing is made to enter from the cut part 8 of the intersection line part, which is cut off by the first process, so as to perform the mirror finishing on respective faces 2a, 2b.
