Abstract:
To provide a metal mold for casting allowing for suppressing an exposure of a surface of a metal mold even with a required minimal amount of application, and a method of metal-mold casting using the same.SOLUTION: A metal mold for casting includes at least one of a plurality of convex portions 125 and a plurality of concave portions 126 for holding a powdery mold-release agent 2 that are formed in a surface of a metal mold 12 configuring a cavity 18. The convex portion 125 has a height H in a direction normal to a surface falling within 50%±20% of an average particle size of the powdery mold-release agent 2. According to an electrostatic powder coating process, a casting is made by forming a mold-release film with the powdery mold-release agent 2 applied over a surface of the cavity 18 and then pouring molten metal in the cavity 18 of the metal mold 12.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3A
