Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal mold for superplastic working, with which molding is carried out keeping a material at a desired temperature without mounting a material heating heater or a heating block on the metal mold.
SOLUTION: A gas blowing port 26 for blowing a gas 65 is arranged at the bottom 25 of a lower metal mold 11. A gas dispersing means 27 is provided, which blocks the blown gas 65 to change the flow direction of the gas and makes the gas reach a forming material 13 along the inner walls 21, 23, 24 of the lower metal mold 11. The temperature of the gas is raised by the heat transfer from the inner walls. Consequently, the gas of a prescribed temperature is brought into contact with the forming material heated preliminarily to a prescribed temperature so that the temperature lowering speed of the forming material is made slow and also the variation of the temperature of the forming material is made small.
