Abstract:

To provide a metal nanorod having a sharp selective light absorption to specific wavelengths in the visual light to near infrared region and an excellent electromagnetic wave shielding property.

The metal nanorod is a rod-shaped metal particle. The coefficients of variation in the long axis and the short axis are each not more than 20%. Preferably, the metal nanorod is a rod-shaped metal particle obtained by reduction of metal ions, the length of the long axis is less than 400 nm, the aspect ratio of the long axis to the short axis is not more than 100, and the coefficients of variation in the long axis and the short axis are each not more than 20%.
