Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lug-type metal open pail can which shows extremely high sealing performance that can reliably satisfy the regulation of the container grade II of the Regulation for the Carriage and Storage of Dangerous Goods by Ship.SOLUTION: A can is configured with a can body 2 and a steal top plate 1 with thickness of 0.50-0.55 mm. A lug top plate 1 comprises an engaging projection 11 fitted onto an opening edge 2a of the can body 2 curled outward via a packing 3, an annular recess 12, and an annular bulge part 13 with a chevron-shaped longitudinal section, a plurality of lug claws 4 are installed in a hanging condition at an outer peripheral side wall 11a of the engaging projection 11. A height of the engaging projection 11 from the annular recess 12 is 16-22 mm, a width of the annular recess 12 is 8-16 mm, a width of the annular bulge part 13 is 8-16 mm and its height is 6-10 mm. Each lug claw 4 is folded in a lower side of the opening edge 2a of the can body 2. A vertical long narrow part 6 in which an inner side wall 11b of the engaging projection 11, a shank 21 of the can body 2 and the lug claw 4 are overlapped is located at a lower side of a chime 5 of an apex formed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
