Abstract:

To obtain a metal separator for a fuel cell capable of preventing generation of local corrosion.

The metal separator for a fuel cell is prevented from local corrosion by forming a conductive protective thin film on the surface of a metal substrate. Following is the manufacturing method of the conductive protective thin film. A metal substrate 20 of the metal separator is set on a plasma polymerization device 10. A subliming organic platinum complex 21 is placed in the device to plasmolyze it, which is deposited and polymerized on the substrate 20 for film-forming to form an organic platinum film.
