When feeding the metal strip material 10 in the predetermined direction, a driving device of a press device moves a reciprocating plate 50, which is provided freely to reciprocate, in the metal strip material 10 feeding direction, and the metal strip material 10 is fed in the predetermined direction by holding it between a holding block 56, which is provided on a moving block 54 moving in the same direction with the reciprocating plate 50, and a vertically moving block 68. When moving the reciprocating plate 50 in a direction opposite to the metal strip material 10 feeding direction, holding of the metal strip material 10 by the holding block 56 and the vertically moving block 68 is released.
