In a ball valve 2 with a metal touch structure, a cylindrical metal seat ring 8 is directly abutted onto a ball-shaped metal valve element 6 having a through hole 10. The communication or interruption between the through hole 10 of the valve element 6 and an inner hole 8b of the seat ring 8 is executed by turning of the valve element 6. The seat ring 8 is formed of cast iron having a metal component made by uniformly dispersing fine globular vanadium carbide in an austenitic stainless matrix.
