To provide a metal working fluid composition excellent in lubricity under extremely severe conditions, which satisfies requirements such as removal capability of oil solution, low odor, safety and stability of lubricant oil.

The metal working fluid composition contains at least one base oil selected from a group consisting of a mineral oil, a synthetic oil and fat and oil, and at least one specific amino acid derivative, wherein the content of the amino acid derivative is 0.01 to 3 mass% based on the total amount of the composition. The composition can be subjected to metal working such as cold rolling, warm and hot rolling, pressing, punching, ironing, squeezing, drawing, forging, cutting and grinding.
