Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prevent hydrogen gas generation without adding mercury and to increase discharge performance in a button battery.
CONSTITUTION: A covered layer 5 of metal capable of alloying with zinc and heightening hydrogen overpotential of the alloy with zinc is formed on the inside, in contact with a negative active material, of a base material 2 made of steel plate, in a negative terminal plate 1 of a battery using zinc as the negative active material. The covered layer 5 of the metal having high hydrogen overpotential is formed by hot-spraying the metal.
