Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the yeast for the feed, capable of enhancing the utilization rate of contained astaxanthin, increasing the colors of the flesh and skin of a cultured fish and improving the color tone of the yolk of a chicken egg by subjecting the dried cells of a yeast belonging to the Phaffia rhodozyma to a press treatment.

CONSTITUTION: The method for producing the yeast for the feed comprises inoculating one platinum loop of Phaffia rhodozyma Y-17-10 (FERM P-13638) grown on the slant of an agar medium on a seed yeast medium, culturing the inoculated yeast at 23°C for three days, transferring the culture product to a jar fermenter containing a medium having the same composition, culturing the yeast at 23°C for two days, transferring the cultured product to a medium in a tank, culturing the yeast at 23°C for 88hr, collecting the cells of the cultured yeast with a centrifuge, spray-drying the cells, and subsequently subjecting the dried cells to a press treatment using a roll mill under a pressure of spray-drying the cells, and subsequently subjecting the dried capable of enhancing the utilization rate of astaxanthin which is a carotenoid pigment in the yeast cells, increasing the colors of the flesh and skin of a cultured fish, and improving is a carotenoid pigment in the yeast cells, increasing the colors of the flesh and skin of a cultured fish, and improving the color toe of the yolk of a chicken egg.
