PURPOSE: To stabilize the quality of a casting by detecting molten metal condition into a metallic mold with an infrared ray sensor and controlling a casting time and a cooling condition with the detecting signal.
CONSTITUTION: In the metallic mold casting, the molten metal in a pouring pot 6 is poured into the metallic mold 1 and cooled by using cooling mechanism 7. Then the pouring condition of the molten metal into the metallic mold 1 from the pouring pot 6 is detected by the infrared ray sensor 10. By this detected signal, the casting time and the cooling condition are controlled. This control is executed by using the cooling mechanism 7 and heating mechanism 8. By this method, the setting of the casting condition can be adapted to the actual pouring condition of the molten metal.
