Abstract:
To provide a metallic soap useful as an additive for cosmetics and usable for increasing lubricative and adhesive properties to the skin and as a dispersant of pigments, and hardly effecting on ingredients of the cosmetics.
The metallic soap for cosmetics is a 6-24C fatty acid magnesium, fatty acid calcium or fatty acid zinc, which is obtained by a metathesis method, wherein 2 mass% water dispersion of the metallic soap is ≥pH6 but <pH7. The method for producing the metallic soap for cosmetics comprises reacting a 6-24C fatty acid of 1 mol with a univalent basic compound of ≥0.9 but <1 mol to obtain a basic compound salt of the fatty acid and reacting the obtained with a magnesium salt, calcium salt or zinc salt in an aqueous medium.
