PURPOSE: To obtain a safe and highly reliable film capacitor having excellent mechanical strength of an external electrode and a film laminated body, having no electric short-circuit caused by conductive dust and the like and also having no defective insulation resistance by a method wherein a specific metallized film laminated part, which does not contribute to the formation of electrostatic capacitance, is provided on both sides in laminating direction of a metallized film laminated part where electrostatic capacitance is formed.
CONSTITUTION: The title metallized film capacitor is composed of a laminated body consisting of the first metallized film laminated part 1, on which electrostatic capacitance is formed, and the second and the third metallized film laminated parts 2 and 3 which do not contribute to formation of electrostatic capacitance, integrally formed on both sides in the direction of lamination of the first metallized film laminated part 1, and a plurality of metallized films having a pair of electrodes 4 and 6 given to the above-mentioned laminated body and also having non-metallized parts 15 and 20, to be used to electrically separate electrodes 4 and 6 formed on the second and the third metallized film laminated parts 2 and 3. The above-mentioned non-metallized parts 15 and 20 are laminated in such a manner that they are positioned almost on the same position, and the metallized part of both outermost layers 8 and 8 in the direction of lamination of the laminated body, consisting of the above-mentioned first to third metallized films, are removed.
