Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the adhesivity of metallized film, by matting a core made of an Al alloy, coating the core with a primer, carrying out the molding of a plastic, dissolving and removing the core, and applying a metallic layer to the surface of the molded article.

CONSTITUTION: A core for plastic molding having rough surface is prepared by the electrolytic etching of a core 1 made of an aluminum alloy. The core is coated with a primer 2 which has high adhesivity to the plastic and can be cured simultaneously with the molding of the plastic. A plastic is molded on the primer surface, and subjected to the required treatments. After the treatments, the core 1 made of aluminum alloy is dissolved and removed leaving a rough surface on the plastic molded article. A metallic layer 4 is applied to the surface of the molded article 3 by plating, etc. to obtain a metallized plastic molded article.
