Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a novel metallocene which is a polynuclear metallocene compound and can be used as a component of a catalyst for olefin polymerization which gives polymers high in stereoregularity and molecular weight, good in particle morphology and suitable for molded parts or the like.
CONSTITUTION: This new metallocene compound useful as an catalyst component for producing polyolefins high in stereoregularity and molecular weight and good in particle shape or the like is represented by formula I [wherein M1 is a group IVb, Vb or VIb metal; X is H, 1-10C alkyl, 1-10C alkoxy, 6-10C aryl, 6-10C aryloxy, 2-10C alkenyl, OH, a halogen or the like; L and L' are each a π-ligand or another electron donor; when B is a group of formula II (wherein M2 is Si, Ge or Sn) or a group of formula III (wherein R1 is a divalent hydrocarbon-containing bridge structure; and R2 is H, a halogen or a hydrocarbon-containing group), (k) is 2 and when B is a group of formula IV (wherein (m) is k-1), (k) is an integer of 2 or more], e.g. 1,6-bis[methylsilyl(indenyl)(cyclopenta-dienyl)zirconium dichloride]hexane or the like.
