Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store an operation mechanism in an operation shaft and limit a moving member in the water to the minimum by forming a steering shaft into a hollow shape, fitting the operation tool of a current change plate provided at a rudder section in the steering shaft, and connecting it to a steering handle provided in a wheelhouse.
SOLUTION: A rudder 6 provided at the stern is fixed to the lower end of a steering shaft 8 suspended from a steering device 7 provided at the rear section of a hull. The rudder 6 is formed into a cylindrical shape faced to a water jet exhaust nozzle 5, and the suspended steering shaft 8 is formed into a hollow shape. The cylinder of a hydraulic device for operating a current change plate is provided in the rudder 6, and a piston rod is connected to the pivotal shaft of the current change plate via a link. An operation tool 13 for operating the hydraulic device is inserted into the hull 1 via the hollow section of the steering shaft 8. The operation tool 13 of the hydraulic device is connected to the handle 16 of a wheelhouse 15 via the steering device 7. This steering device 7 has a simple structure and good operability, it is safe in steering because no steering tool penetrates the hull 1 at all, and assembling and maintenance are facilitated.
