PURPOSE: To facilitate check and maintenance by providing a solar battery as a reserve battery on the meter cover of the motorcycle.

CONSTITUTION: The solar battery 19 as the reserve battery is provided on the top surface of the cover 9 of the meter M of the motorcycle. The battery is connected to a tripmeter unit M3, a clock unit M4, and capacitor 21, wherein memory circuits have to be maintained in an operating state all the time. Even though a coupler 17 is separated or the battery is removed for the maintenance of the motorcycle, power is supplied to the tripmeter unit M3 and the clock unit M4 from the solar battery 19 during the daytime and from the capacitor 21 at night. Therefore, the check and maintenance can be facilitated.
