Illumination light is guided into a pointer body 13 of a meter 101 for vehicles from below a pointer 12 along a pointer rotating shaft part 3. A gap part 14, having a forward reflecting slope 14a for reflecting the illumination light at least in the direction of the tip 13a of the pointer body 13, is opened and formed in a base part 13b provided with the pointer rotating shaft part 3 of the pointer body 13. The semi-translucent light diffusing member 8 is fitted in the gap part 14. A contact surface part 16, for retaining a front part for retaining the semi-translucent light diffusing member 8 by striking against the front surface side of its leg part 8b, is integrally formed in the reflecting slope 14a of the gap part 14 by notching a part of the reflecting slope 14a.
