Abstract:

To provide a novel (meth)acrylamide polymer capable of forming an agent for papermaking which can exhibit excellent effects such as paper strength-enhancing effects, freeness-improving effects, yield-improving effects, interlaminar paper strength-enhancing effects, surface paper strength-enhancing effects and sizing degree-improving effects in a papermaking system in an acidic, neutral or alkaline region, a manufacturing method thereof, and paper excellent in bursting strength, internal bonding strength and other properties by using the polymer.

The (meth)acrylamide polymer is obtained by polymerizing (a) a monomer represented by general formula (1), (b) (meth)acrylamide, and (c) an ionic monomer other than monomer (a) represented by general formula (1).
