To produce a new (meth)acrylic ester utilizable as a modifier or an additive for various resins, especially the modifier for silicones or capable of curing in two stages.
This (meth)acrylic ester is represented by formula I [(a) is 0-17; (b) and (c) are each 1-4; R1 is H or methyl; R2 is a hydrocarbon having a double bond at the terminal; X and Y are each a natural number and (X+Y) is 3], e.g. trimethylolpropane allyl ether diacrylate represented by formula II. The compound represented by formula I is produced by introducing (meth) acryloyl group into a compound represented by formula III. An esterification reaction of the compound represented by formula III with (meth)acrylic acid, a transesterification reaction thereof with an acrylic or a methacrylic ester or a reaction thereof with an acryloyl or a methacryloyl halide, etc., is cited as the method for introducing the (meth)acryloyl group. The characteristic of the compound represented by formula I is to have one or more hydrocarbon groups having the double bond at the terminal in addition to the (meth)acryloyl group in one molecule.
