Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a methane modified engine system having superior system efficiency under effective utilization of waste-heat of an engine showing a temperature of 500°C or less.SOLUTION: This invention relates to an engine system having an engine driven by fuel of modified gas including hydrogen. This engine system comprises: a reformer 103 for generating modified gas including hydrogen through modification with water stem of original fuel of which major ingredient is methane, under application of waste-heat of an engine 101; a cooler 108 for cooling modified gas discharged out of the reformer 103; a modified gas supply line 113 for supplying the modified gas passed through the cooler 108, to an intake pipe 109 of the engine 101; and a water recovery line 114 for recovering moisture condensed with the cooler 108 into a water tank 110. A temperature of exhaust gas supplied to the reformer 103 is 400 to 500°C.
