To provide a methane reforming method due to carbon dioxide and steam capable of lowering the ratio of steam to methane (S/C ratio) and capable of stably reforming methane over a long period of time, a methane reforming system, a methane reforming catalyst and a manufacturing method of this catalyst.
The methane reforming catalyst is constituted by supporting at least one active component selected from the group consisting of Ru and Rh on a carrier which contains at least one first oxide selected from the group consisting of MgO, CeO2 and SrO and at least one second oxide selected from the group consisting of Al2O3 and ZrO2, and obtained by adding slurry containing a hydroxide of the active component to the carrier and baking the slurry-added carrier. The methane reforming system equipped with this catalyst is constructed to reform methane by carbon dioxide and steam.
