Title:
METHINE COMPOUND, SILVER HALIDE EMULSION, AND SILVER HALIDE PHOTOGRAPHIC SENSITIVE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2000345060
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a silver halide photographic sensitive material which has a high light absorption factor per unit area of particle surface and a high sensitivity by incorporating a methine compound into the same,

A methine compound of the formula is incorporated into a silver halide emulsion. In the formula, Z1 is a group of atoms necessary for forming a 5- or 6-membered nitrogen-containing heterocycle; Z2 is a group of atoms for forming a cycloalkyldiene ring which may be fused with a benzene ring provided that the ring formed by Z2 may be fused at any positions of the benzene ring and that Z2 may be further substituted or fused; Q1 is a group necessary for causing the compound to form a methine color; R1 is an alkyl, aryl, or heterocyclic group having an aryl or heterocyclic group as a substituent; L1 and L2 are each methine; p1 is 0 or 1; M1 is a charge-balanced counter ion; m1 is a number of 0-10 necessary for neutralizing the molecular charge; V1 is a substituent: and n is 0-2. This methine compound is dissolved in a solvent such as water, methanol, ethanol, or propanol and then added to a silver halide emulsion.
