Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a photosensitive material improved in sharpness, color separation capacity and sensitivity by incorporating a specified methine compound in a silver halide photosensitive material. SOLUTION: To a silver halide material having a silver halide content of 50 mol%, a methine compound of formula I (R and R1 are each an alkyl; X is Br or I; Z1 is an atomic group necessary to form a five- or six-membered nitrogen-containing heterocyclic ring; L1 and L2 are each methine; n1 is 0 or 1; M1 is a charge-balancing counter ion; m1 is a number necessary to neutralize the charge of the molecule and is 0-10; Q1 is methine or polymethine necessary to form a methine color) and/or at least one heterocyclic compound selected from formula II (R2 is H, a halogen, mercapto, an alkyl, an aryl, an alkylthio or an arylthio; and M2 is a number necessary for neutralizing the charge of the molecule and is 0-10) and formula III (m3 is a number necessary for neutralizing the charge of the molecule and is 0-10) are added.
