Title:
METHOD FOR ACCELERATING METHANE FERMENTATION BY DECREASE OF HYDROGEN PARTIAL PRESSURE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03250000
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the stop or decrease of the methane fermentation reaction during the operation of methane fermentation by controlling the concn. of formic acid when the hydrogen partial pressure in a methane fermentation tank increases.

CONSTITUTION: The formic acid is added into the methane fermentation tank to control the concn. when the hydrogen partial pressure increases, by which the activity of the hydrogen metabolizable methane bacteria in the fermentation tank is enhanced and the hydrogen partial pressure in the tank is lowered to accelerate the methane fermentation. The concn. of the formic acid is preferably 3 to 7(g-HCOOH/g-VSS).
