The image data of a paper sheet where a lens shape is shown by the figure is transmitted to a lens shape data processor 11 together with a figure of a box whose shape and position data (hereafter, data for a shape, etc.) have been already known by the facsimile machine 10. The lens shape data processor 11 evaluates the image data in the box of the fetched image data by predetermined evaluation conditions, to extract the lens shape data. The lens shape data are corrected on the basis of the data for the shape, etc. and the point interval of the lens shape data is complemented to obtain the curve data for manufacturing the lens.
