Abstract:
PURPOSE: To repidly accultely and simultaneously execute adjustment of center gap and amount of leveling by a simple operation.
CONSTITUTION: An upper work roll 4 and a lower work roll 5 are brought into tightly contact with each other by lowering the work and drive sides of the upper work roll 4 of a rolling mill before rolling. Both loads QW, QD on the work and drive sides of the upper work roll 4 or lower work roll 5 are measured by load cells 6W, 6D and the upper roll 4 and lower roll 5 are brought into thighly contact with each other untill the sum (QW+QD) of measured loads becomes a specified value C. After this, while keeping the sum (QW+QD) of both measured loads at the specified value C, the tight-contact force on the side of the large measured load is decreased and also the tight-contact force on the side of the small measured load is increased untill the measured loads QW, QD become approximately equal.
