To provide a method for adjusting an inter-shaft initial value of a rolling roll by which the inter-shaft initial value can be simply and highly accurately adjusted.

The rolling rolls 25, 26 are oppositely arranged. The rolling rolls 25, 26 are respectively supported by rotary shafts 21, 22. The rotary shafts 21, 22 are respectively supported by slide bearings 23, 24. A plastically deforming member 32 is inserted between the rolling rolls 25, 26 in a state that the rolling rolls 25, 26 are not rotated. The thickness dimension t at a plastically deformed part 34 of the plastically deforming member 32 is measured. By this, the inter-shaft initial value s is obtained, which is corrected by an amount equivalent to the adjusting amount of the previously obtained inter-shaft initial value s.
