Title:
METHOD FOR ADJUSTING WHEEL ALIGNMENT OF VEHICLE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3471397
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To set the adjustment of the vehicle chassis line different for each kind of tire to a correct and optimum set value by obtaining the toe angle which is identical with right and left tires based on the toe angle where the cornering force is minimum, and setting the obtained toe angle to adjust the wheel alignment.
CONSTITUTION: When cornering forces CF1-CF4 are generated in axles or tires, a driver takes balance between the moment A and the moment B in the steering around a steering shaft S to allow the driving straight ahead. When a vehicle is driven straight ahead, the toe angle where the cornering forces CF1-CF4 are minimum. The obtained toe angle is set to the right and left tires to adjust the wheel alignment is obtained. This constitution sets the cornering forces CF1-CF4 of the right and left tires to the substantially same and minimum values, and the straight line stability for the steering becomes excellent.
