PURPOSE: To provide a method of adjusting a backlash of a transaxle for an automobile.
CONSTITUTION: This method includes: a process of engaging a dead load 170 with a differential cover member 26 and pulling the dead load 170 in the direction of separating the differential cover member 26; a process of detecting tension of the differential cover member 26 to measure the tension of the differential cover member 26, and comparing the tension amount with a fixed plot of a tension pair preload; and a process of turning an inside-outside adjusting device 100 of a differential assembly 18 and moving the inside-outside adjusting device 100 in the lateral direction to move the differential assembly 18 to be close to and away from a power distribution assembly, thereby obtaining a target preload.
