Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement a method for relatively, geometrically, and mutually aligning two bars of a transmitter and a receiver facing each other by projecting alignment radiation beams in opposite directions between the supporting bars of the transmitter and the receiver. SOLUTION: Alignment radiation sources 29 and 29' each incorporated in a transmitter bar 17 and a receiver bar 19 project a beam 33 and a beam 33' in an opposite direction to the surface 31 of each of the bars 17 and 19 facing each other. The light beams 33 and 33' are in parallel with the optical axis of a beam forming a light curtain. Reference points 35 and 35' are provided at places of the bars 17 and 19 on which the alignment radiation beams 33 and 33' impinge. The bars 17 and 19 are normally provided with the same size and reference point. The alignment light source 29 and the reference point 35 are arranged at the upper end of the bars 17 and 19, and the alignment light source 29' and the reference point 35' are at the lower end of the bars 17 and 19, respectively. By this constitution, it is possible to align the bars 17 and 19 correctly by the projection of the two alignment radiation beams 33 and 33' in opposite directions.
