To provide a method for analyzing a character map that allows a browser of the character map to easily search for and browse information about candidates for the causative gene of the character thereof.

The method for analyzing a character map includes the following processes: (1) a process for selecting an area of the character map representing the degree of association between a phenotype and a marker allele by means of a genome coordinate system; (2) a process for selecting a section on a genome coordinate axis that corresponds to the area; (3) a process for selecting the identifier of a gene where a genetic locus exists within the section selected; and (4) a process for searching a database for records sharing the identifiers of one or more biomacromolecules among all the sections selected and for displaying data on the records as information on the relationship among the biomacromolecules.
