Abstract:

To obtain a homopolymer with controlled molecular weight and molecular weight distribution using a carbazole-containing styrene solid monomer and by reducing a reaction temperature to control side reactions a copolymer with controlled molecular weight and molecular weight distribution which is obtained by the block polymerization of a carbazole-containing styrene derivative and various monomers, and to provide its synthetic method.

In the anion polymerization of a styrene derivative having a carbazole side chain, a thermally stable polymer having various optical properties and controlled molecular weight distribution is obtained by (i) the synthesis of a monomer material having the side chain, (ii) the synthesis of the homopolymer with controlled molecular weight and molecular weight distribution using the monomer, (iii) the synthesis of a controlled block copolymer using the monomer and styrene or methyl methacrylate and the introduction of a carbazole having optical properties to the homopolymer or block copolymer.
