Abstract:

PURPOSE: To impart antistatic properties and water repellency rich in durability to synthetic fiber fabric by applying a treating liquid containing an antistatic agent having quaternary ammonium ionic group, a zirconium salt of an organic acid and a fluorine-based water repellent to the synthetic fiber fabric and then heat-treating the resultant fabric.
CONSTITUTION: A treating liquid containing a cationic antistatic agent having quaternary ammonium ionic group, a zirconium salt of an organic acid (e.g. zirconium formate or zirconium acetate) and a fluorine-based water repellent containing a perfluoroalkyl group in one bath is applied to woven or knit fabric, etc., containing synthetic fiber such as a polyester or a nylon by immersion, etc., and the resultant fabric is then dried and subsequently heat-treated at 120-170°C to afford the objective synthetic fiber fabric having both antistatic properties and water repellency excellent in resistance to washing.
