To provide a method and apparatus for activating water capable of enhancing the reaction efficiency of the whole apparatus by means of ultraviolet irradiation.
The water activating apparatus comprises ultraviolet irradiation apparatuses which irradiate at least water with ultraviolet light each having a selected wavelength different from each other, and each of which is provided with an optical fiber having a portion where the ultraviolet light is allowed to leak from the midway. The ultraviolet irradiation apparatuses are composed of an apparatus 12 for irradiation with the ultraviolet light with a short wavelength of 180 to 190 nm, an apparatus 14 with a medium wavelength of 245 to 260 nm, and an apparatus with a long wavelength of 350 to 390 nm.
