To provide a viscous material applying technique by which a viscous material is surely applied on a work.
The viscous material is stored in a supply vessel 10. The work W is placed flatly on a flattening stage 30. After the inside of the supply vessel 10 is pressurized at an initial pressure (a 1st pressure) to discharge the viscous material 5 from through holes 12, the pressure of the inside of the supply vessel 10 is reduced to a transfer pressure (a 2nd pressure) of lower pressure than the 1st pressure to lighten the flexure of a penetrating plate 11. The viscous material 5 is transferred on the work W by making the flatten stage 30 close to the penetrating plate 11 to bring the discharged viscous material into contact with the work W, then moving the flatten stage 30 downward to make the work W away from the penetrating plate 11.
