Abstract:
To reliably authenticate personal identification of an IC card.
The IC card stores an encrypted identification code by using an encryption key produced on the basis of fingerprint information of a possessor himself/herself of the IC card, and the encrypted identification code is decoded by using a decoding key generated from the fingerprint of the possessor of the IC card to collate the decrypted code with the identification code for performing personal identification.
