To provide a bending apparatus and a bending method by which, e.g. a member to be worked of a L shape in a cross section is satisfactorily bent up to an angle larger than an angle attained by a conventional way.

The bending apparatus 10 is provided with a pushing means 14 to push the member to be worked at two places, a die member 15 by which the member 29 to be worked is pushed at intermediate positions of the two places and in which a face to be pushed has a partial cylindrical side face shape having a center angel smaller than a bending angle of the member to be worked, a pushing plate member 19 which is arranged in parallel to a side face of one of the die member and spaced a distance equal to a thickness of the member to be worked away from the die member, and a fastening means 20 to fasten the pushing plate member and the die member. Thereby, the method enables satisfactory bending up to 90 degree, while satisfactory bending up to 10 degree at most is enabled by a conventional method.
