Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten time required for work and to prevent occurrence of wrinkles causing deterioration of quality by a method wherein a part near the tail end of a coil is seized at the final stage of winding-up process and a hoop is wound round the wound-up coil, following completion of the winding-up of the coil, without moving the coil from the winding-up position and binding is made thereafter.
SOLUTION: On executing binding for a coil 2, a hydraulic cylinder S1 is operated when the tail end of the coil 2 comes close to a reel 1, and a pressing roll 7 is pressed against the surface of the coil 2. Then, an apparatus is entirely lowered from a waiting position with an elevator mechanism with a hoop guide chute 6 opened, and binding is executed for the coil 2 with a binding head 5 after the hoop guide chute 6 surrounding the coil 2 is closed. After binding of the coil 2, the pressing roll 7 is retreated and the apparatus is entirely retreated (lifted up) to the waiting position with the hoop guide chute 6 opened, and then the wound-up coil 2 is carried out, being mounted on a coil car 3.
