Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make possible adding personalized display and the printing of address information on a book cover by that the personalized display is printed, on a signature, and the signature is combined with other signatures, and the address information is printed on a book cover by detecting the personalized printing.
CONSTITUTION: In an bookbinding apparatus 19, signatures and a cover are collected to an assembly line 28 respectively from feeders 29 to 31 of a line, and from a cover feeder 32. On the other hand, printed documents such as an identification number are sent to the line, and personalized information is input to a computer 39 by the detection using a detector 35. On the basis of this, address information corresponding to personalized information is printed on the cover. This printing is directly printed on the cover, or is printed on a pressure sensitive adhesive label pasted to the cover. Or, after this printing to the label, the label is pasted to the cover at once. This detector 35 is selected according to the type of personalized printing such as an optical scanner and a magnetic detector.
