To provide a new method for correctly determining the position of a user when the user rides a conveyance path of a conveying apparatus for human.
In a position calculating system 1, a navigation device 2 detects that the user rises a moving footwalk by receiving a transmission signal from an entrance transmitter 3 installed at an entrance position of the moving footwalk. The position calculating system 1 integrates the conveying speed of the moving footwalk received from the entrance transmitter 3, and calculates the moving distance of the user on the conveyance path of the moving footwalk using the moving distance of the footwalk obtained by integrating the conveying speed when one step of the user is not detected by walk detection processing or using the width of one step of the user and the moving distance of the footwalk obtained by integrating the conveying speed when one step of the user is not detected.
